La bodega de Alboloduy

Caused by these last circumstances, in our familiar scope an idea arises in 2004 to establish a winery with a familiar and small company nature with the real pretension to be inheriting from the Alboloduy´s wine-growing tradition, producing wines that gave fame to the town, and incorporating new wines based on new varieties of grape that have demonstrated an extraordinary adaptation to orographic and climatic conditions of this land.

The main objective of our winery is to recover this old tradition and return to cultivate vineyard in this particular land in Montenegro, with excellent characteristics for its growing up, because its climate, ground and altitude conditions, that allow us to elaborate own-character wines, in purest state of quality.

The second objective is to recover the tradition of this fine wine that always has been made in our town, and that with the brand “Loma del Viento”, it will be the flagship of our winery.

And finally, the elaboration of other varieties of white and red wines, under the "Vinos de la Tierra Ribera del Andarax" wine denomination, geographic denomination in which we are framed.

The Winery is located in the “Paraje de Alcozáyar”, just in the town´s entrance. It has a fermentation room with stainless steel tanks with refrigeration chamber with a present capacity to 80.000 litres of wine and two maturing rooms with American and French oak barrels, as well as a modern machinery for the crushing and destemming of the grape, pneumatic presses, vintage and transfer pumps and bottled and labeled line.

Our present production is around 80.000 bottles per year, which an important part is destined for maturing and reserve wines that will not be available until after 2 or 3 years; so our production, at the moment, is limited; we preferred a slowly beginning and produce high-quality wines quality that contribute something new and original to the wine world in our province, and, later on, grow gradually because the market demand.
